# Thriving through the cuts

**What the 2027 Medicaid changes mean for health centers, and how to get ahead of them**

On January 1, 2027, two things change at once for Medicaid expansion adults aged 19 to 64. They will need to document 80 hours a month of work, training, school or community service. And renewals move from once a year to every six months.

Most of those patients will still be eligible. The coverage losses will come from paperwork.

For a health center where Medicaid is a meaningful share of revenue, that is not a policy story. It is an operational and financial one, and there is more you can do about it than the headlines suggest.

**What we will cover**

- Exactly what changes on January 1, and who it applies to
- Why the expansion-state distinction matters, and which centers are most exposed
- Practical steps to keep patients covered and enrolled through the churn
- Where health centers are leaving revenue uncollected for care they already deliver
- What is still genuinely unknown, and what to watch for

**Who should attend**

Health center operations directors, CEOs, CFOs, and anyone responsible for coverage retention or revenue cycle.

**Speakers**

**Sean Roddy**
Executive Vice President, National Association of Community Health Centers

Sean opens the session with what NACHC is seeing across the health center network as the 2027 Medicaid changes approach. He leads work spanning the association's membership and its corporate and finance functions, which puts him in front of the operational and financial pressures health centers are reporting nationally, well before those pressures show up in the published data.

**Gadi Shenhar**
CEO and Co-Founder, Droxi

Gadi presents the main session. An electrical engineer by training, from the Technion, he co-founded Droxi on the conviction that providers deserve better tools than the ones they have. He works directly with health center leaders on what the 2027 transition means for staffing, revenue and the daily clinical workload, and what can be decided now rather than next year.
